It is my sad duty to report the death of SK Emmett J Murphy, a member of Fr. Malloy Assembly on Friday, May 22, 2015, at the age of 92. The family requests an honor guard for the visitation and funeral. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-28 from 4PM to 8PM at Fairfax Memorial funeral home on Braddock Rd , and funeral Mass on Friday, 5-29 at 10:30 AM at St Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield. Since he was also a member of Sikora Council 7992, we are inviting members of Bradican Assembly 2996 to assist in the Honor Guard. I know that this was short notice but PLEASE consider helping with the wake and funeral for SK Emmett Murphy. He was a loyal member of Malloy Assembly for many years until his health precluded his regular participation. He was the photographer for his council and the assembly, so many of you may have seen him when you were new to the order. We need to pay him the respect he deserves. Even if you cannot make the entire wake, consider helping out at least for part of it. It is a 4 hour wake and that is a long time to stand for the 4 SKs that have graciously signed up. Consider coming in at 6 PM after work to relieve the weary Knights for the last half. Please consider providing this brother Knight the respect that you would want at your funeral.
